Artist Spotlight – Eren Arik

Turkish artist Eren Arik has an extensive portfolio with a focus on movie and video game based concept drawings.
These two pieces, based on recognizable pop culture figures, exemplify his stylistic knack for contrasting color.

Mugen by Eren Arik

This drawing is inspired from the mid-aughts anime series Samurai Champloo. A shadow silhouette is amplified by an intense orange backdrop. The character’s personal symbol is illuminated  through his silhouette, an impressively subtle detail. This piece is sure to satisfy any fan of the show.

Ottoman Batman by Eren ARIK

Arik portrays his singular interpretation on Batman’s iconic attire as he draws from the fashion of the late Ottoman Empire. This would be confounding to most if not made aware that “Batman” was a unit of measurement used in the Ottoman Empire.
